This is the first of 3 films made about Police Commissioner Thatcher Colt between 1931-1942. Adolphe Menjou starred in the first two. The other being The Circus Queen Murder (1933). And it's a good B-murder mystery. Never a slow moment and plenty of little twists to the story. Good fun and I think this'll satisfy fans of the Philo Vance style mysteries of the same period.
