The Mysterious Mr. Davis

Absurd financial comedy! Out-of-luck Henry Kendall invents an imaginary partner which by accident opens doors to make some good investments. I believe this is the only British movie the French director Claude Autant-Lara did in his 55 year long career and I enjoyed it. This is among the more economical films made during the 30s, but all you really need to make a good comedy is a simple idea that works for a few laughs and Alastair Sim as a lunatic!
