What it lacks in comedy it makes up for by lacking in horror.

One of the biggest crimes in cinema is having Mary Woronov in your 80s horror film and there's no Paul Bartel in sight. An absolute tragedy. The bulk of Blood Theater is about as fun as waiting in a concession line. Shocked Rick Sloane wasn't one of Ebert's favourite auteurs

I enjoy low/no budget horror films more than most, (a lot can enter this almost ethereal state) but this one kind of just drags along. The kill involving the popcorn machine is a standout scene but the rest, meh. Splicing your own goofy student films into your goofy horror movie isn’t a move I would make.
