The Monolith Monsters

Certainly a daring take on the whole "Man vs. Nature" story. There are some good performances by the cast, but it's too challenging for this movie to make an exciting plot based on antagonists that are rocks (even rocks from outer space). There can be few turns or twists, and I think this film would have benefitted from an extra storyline or two (in the way that the Toho films tack these on to a Godzilla story). There is a sort of charm to the miniature work and matte painting use, though.

A pure sci-fi plot with a nice rising build in action. It has a down to earth setting with its small mining town and main characters being no more than government grunts in a sheriff, school teacher and a lowly geologist. While the threat never leaves this small town the stakes are truly high. Underrated and recommended.

Neat effects, so-so terror. Fav scene: dam breaking and water breaking all the rocks.

One of the better 50's sci-fi movies for me. Surprisingly good with some decent science and quickly building tension. Pretty cool effects for the day too!

Watched this with my mom and wow we had a great time

Unconventional "monster", efficiently-told tale. Worth the watch.
