The Misfits

Pretty run of the mill, but Pierce Brosnan makes it all watchable by doing his charming Pierce Brosnan thing and clearly enjoying himself. Renny Harlin apperently is the director you hire if you want to make a commercial for your country disguised Hollywood action movie; there are some scenes that are clear ads for Abu Dhabi that look like parodies on R&B music videos.

Renny Harlin was never a great director, but he could put together a competent action film. This really does not feel like the same man. I'll grant him that he's working with a terrible script with only one of two characters with any dimensions to speak of, terrible dialogue and a boring, confusing heist. But even the simplest action sequences are just incompetently staged and vastly uninvolving. The only thing that saves this from total disaster is Brosnan, who exhibits some spark.

So lame and lackluster heist thriller that's written Fast and Furious-ripoff all over it. Watchable because Brosnan is here doing Brosnan stuff. The Abu Dhabi touristic approach is so absurd it actually makes you laugh a bit.

worth a watch

The only thing this movie succeeds in, is hiring a very diverse cast.
