Frank Sinatra as a man of the cloth? I thought he did a good job at it. Quite nice little acting from the singer. The movie centers around Fred MacMurray trying to do justice to an actress they'd just worked to death, setting up a burial and PR campaign to have her movie released. So in the course of the film we see flashbacks of what had happened to Alida Valli, and it's cynical with positive religious tones. I felt it worked quite well. Quite a soul quenching movie.
