Loretta Young in one of those overly serious melodramas. Beautiful costumes and cinematography, even if it was hardly adventurous creative flows at work. Just safe quality. The most interesting thing for me was watching Conrad Veidt in one of his, if not only, good guy role in Hollywood. The scene when she meets her estranged daughter was effective. A nice way touch of drama, even if the happy ending was a little falsely slapped on.
