The type of story you'd see in a typical X-Files episode only, you know, twice as long now. It won't knock your socks off, but I enjoyed the low-key buildup, the Britishness of it all (with a dash of French for extra flavor) and Richard Burton glaring at things is worth the price of admission alone.

Quite an interesting and enjoyable caper, with a compelling and sinister central performance from Richard Burton. The premise is intriguing enough, and the succession of British character actors in supporting roles lend a bit of charm to proceedings. It perhaps suffers a bit in terms of the pacing and editing towards the end; it doesn't really ramp up the tension as it might have, and the ropey special effects don't help. A 70s curiosity that is worth seeking out.

Remick came off a bit lightweight here (though things did improve toward the end). And the transformation of Burton's character from bewildered, haunted quasi-victim to avenging angel seemed rather abrupt (with the finale having SEQUEL written all over it). But the ominous mood is well-sustained throughout, and the flashbacks have an admirably seamless quality to them. Oh yeah, one more thing: Dick's glare--though doubtless formidable--didn't quite rate as supernatural.

A solidly engaging suspenseful mystery/horror similar in vain as The Omen. The three leads are marvelous in their roles.

Good supernatural thriller starring Richard Burton I never even heard of.

Interesting premise but spoiled by ultra-cheap and drab production values, and boring direction.
