The Marrying Kind

Good but not great movie that could have been either a wild comedy or a serious drama with just a couple of changes. But it's neither, and I'm not sure but that's what's going to stay with me.

The Marrying Kind (1952) tries to blend a fairly serious drama with two wonderfully naive and selfish people, balancing the story and broad comical tone to the point where you don't really know if it's working or not. With two such annoying characters, you'd be happy they'd be married to each other rather than fumbling other people's lives. But it's sort of adorable to witness from afar, even if they never shut up.
