The Manitou

It's schlock, but it's the kind of schlock you secretly crave. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I thought the whole concept was cool as hell. But ohhh man, in its climax, it goes FULL.TILT. BANANAS. It's already been either plodding or bonkers up until then, but when your big showdown consist of a naked lady channeling the power of compu- no, no, wait, god, sorry, I almost robbed you of the gloriousness of discovering that... that scene. I AM DRENCHED IN SCHLOCK.

The 70s were great for horror, youd come up with stupid shit (just look at that plot summary) and end up with a cast stacked with Oscar nominees and winners acting like they're going to get another one in the bag.

This is not for everyone and was pretty crazy. However, it did hold my attention, and I just couldn't get over Tony Curtis was the star. He didn't "phone it in" either.

Tony Curtis hams it up with Michael Ansara in this wonderfully goofy 1970s cult flick that has a wild finale. They go into space! SPACE!

"Just assume that she has a problem, now now assume also this problem has to do with Indian magic. Well, my God, son, you do have one hell of a problem!"

A very silly film that plods dully during the first hour, but has an amazingly absurd climax (if you're curious, I would recommend fastforwarding till the end, as the Manitou himself is unbelievably funny).

Starts off really well but then wonders off into sillyness, a shame it could have been a good film.
