The Lovers

From Pearl Harbor to this. Hartnett is only able to portray lousy characters in even worse movies. Some say this is a chick flick. Well, I'm a chick and I really do not like this flick. So, 18/100.

Kudos only for the scenery and the chicks. Why was this film made?

In this case the whole is much less than the sum of its parts. Despite a large array of good scenes, decent special effects, period costumes & a few good acting performances, it is held together with a chopped up confusing story that makes little to no sense. Some of the dialog is stupid, the storytelling is bad & the editing is terrible. Events are connected by a thin confusing thread & the timeline is a jumbled mess. Also the music got rather tedious. So much to like, yet it is not satisfying.

Since I know not a single man that would willingly sit through this, it must now be considered official: women will watch anything.

This multi-continental adventure was poor. I guess all the years of legal trouble tired it's intended vision, resulting in an heartless release....
