Just an easy breezy lil adventure comedy to put on that you can pause every once in a while because you were stricken with diarrhea and not miss a beat. I swear I'm properly hydrated this was fine!

Amongst the slapstick, inane dialogue and CG-enhanced action, The Lost City loses itself by vocally embracing the schlock it spends its first half mocking. There are plenty of funny moments, but it remains a thoroughly mediocre film. Radcliffe is fun playing his go-to megalomaniacal billionaire, but it's Pitt's brief appearance that steals the show, followed (surprisingly) by Oscar Nuñez's creepy pilot.

Nobody will accuse this of being a masterpiece, but this is exactly what it should have been. A comedy-first action romcom with a really great cast. The leads get to be charming and the supporting cast gets to ham it up.

A rote and poorly written romantic comedy without much romance or comedy. Its few efforts towards something unique or subversive (leaving treasure behind) are too insignificant to improve the experience and occasionally make things worse (our only Hispanic character is thrown on the road rash of the treasure hunting trope as a pinprick bandaid with three lines and little agency). A few small laughs are had, but overall it’s forgettable at best.

Tatum and Bullock are entertaining together while not exactly setting the world on fire. Brad Pitt was fun as usual. Not much to say about this, really. It's kinda funny, kind of exciting. A fairly average but enjoyable adventure.

It looked like a parody most of the time, which was good. However, around the second half, it becomes the thing it makes fun of, with too much cheesy, romantic scenes and forced situations. It's a shame we didn't see more of Brad Pitt's character. Beth was unnecessary and obnoxious. But bottom line, this is the most normal movie Daniel Radcliffe has ever made.

A surprisingly well-made odd-couple tale. Deceptive in a sense, as it looks from the outside as an average bit of schlock, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convincing myself that that's wholly intentional, with the movie reflecting this fictional writer and her books in obvious, and less-than-obvious ways. The comic relief is filler and could easily be shaved down for an even tighter presentation. As-is, this was a genuine surprise in that I had woefully-low expectations for it.

The Lost City is definitely carried by it’s insanely talented cast, as the chemistry really shines between Tatum & Bullock. Despite it’s very cliche tropes, it has a lot of feel good moments that you generally get away with it, and does have it’s laugh here and there. It’s biggest knocks are the cliche story elements, and frankly, a little underwhelming Radcliffe as the main antagonist. This movie hits enough beats to be fairly entertaining to most of it’s viewers.

Radcliffe as the cartoonish villain drags down the otherwise well-rounded action comedy cast. It stands in stark contrast to Bullet Train, another 2022 action flick that succeeded in elevating itself through its characters and writing.

“The Lost City” is an entertaining throwback to grand Hollywood adventure films that’s sure to please audiences. The film's built-in shortcomings don’t matter so much because it does such a good job with the comfort-food basics of popcorn entertainment. Despite its flaws, it’s easy to take the slick, surface-level, time-tested pleasures of the film for granted.

This is a fun movie for the most part. It has many unconvincing moments during the manhunt. I liked the writing and found it to be quite amusing at times. I absolutely love Sandra Bullock, so that might affect my score some. The dialog and plot were a bit cheesy in places. Daniel Radcliffe was not a great choice. Brad Pitt's character was quite a surprise. Overall it was fun to watch and not really bad enough to complain about. A good date movie.

This is a relatively entertaining film but its by no means memorable or particularly substantial. Its a light, easy watch, with some interesting moments and mildly amusing pieces of dialogue but it didn't really grab my attention and I can't say I followed everything in the plot. Its an 'alright but no more' type watch. I wouldn't especially recommend it, no.

So basically Sandra Bullock is an author who writes a romance novel with Chanum Tatum being a character in her Romance novel. Bad guys kidnap Sandra. Tatum & Brad Pitt go to rescue her from the bad guys. Purpose of the movie is that they want Sandra to find the treasure. They do that in the movie. Tatum rescue's Sandra from the bad guys, & that's it. Best part of this movie are the action scenes. Really well done.

A few of the jokes made my eyes roll, but this is pretty fun and refreshing by today's standards to have a decent enough action rom-com. Some of the story was pretty lazy. Channing Tatum's character's sudden flip mid-way through the movie was just ridiculous.

Entirely harmless and light rom com adventure that I imagine would work well on a first date. Reminiscent of a modern take on Romancing the Stone in terms of set up and delivery though failing to match it's predecessor (perhaps that's just rose tinted glasses as I haven't seen RtS in years).

I'm a fan of the Nee Brothers, but this film could have been so much better. The natural chemistry between Bullock and Tatum is good and they have some great comedic moments, but the entire plot isn't compelling enough to drive the film beyond the occasional funny moment. The ending is a bit murky, the action a little stale, Brad Pitt is under-utilized, and Daniel Radcliffe honestly isn't that scary or imposing of a villain. I liked the duo of Bullock and Tatum but every other scene is boring.

I think that Bullock and Tatum had a great flirt chemistry. Like when you are unintelligently attracted to a person who’s wrong for you in every way imaginable. In its effort to avoid being Raiders of the Lost Ark, it instead becomes a riff on a riff, pivoting into tongue-in-cheek Romancing the Stone territory as Sandra Bullock’s Loretta setting out on an actual romantic adventure with her dim-witted cover model. There’s a certain amount of cleverness to the conceit, and a fine chemistry between Bullock and her co-star Channing Tatum, whose gift for playing affable lunkheads is unquestionable and probably unparalleled. But such cleverness has its limits
