Silent cowboy star Buck Jones signs with Colombia Pictures and makes his first talking picture - The Lone Rider (1930). He was straight away more a natural at this than most of the silent cowboys. I guess that's why he made such a solid living of it until his untimely death in 1942. Naturally, this being a early sound picture, along with it being a B-western, this is not a timeless classic or anything like that, but it's a serviceable cowboy flick for the period it was made.
