Top badass moment? This film is a warning to anyone who fly tips rubbish. (Especially the bastards who make the effort to drive to the bin compound on my estate outside my window, at night, but then can’t fucking be bothered to carry their rubbish the last few feet to the actual bins and chuck it all over the ground around them instead.) Sorry, rant over. This movie starts like most episodes of Blake’s 7, in a worn out looking industrial location. Weird. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

The latent delectability in Rollin's exploration of the underlying themes of death, love and memory is sadly buried in a load of awkward elements, and the film feels more awkward than gripping in the end. The last sequence is done with a grotesque finesse, but it can't save the overrall clumsy spectacle of horrific love excitedly exposed.

Not one of Rollin's best -no dreamy atmosphere, but boring and conventional. All daylight and harsh realism in a vampiric way. No.

Now I know where Rob Zombie got his song from. Some decent gore and nudity, decent enough movie that is a bit too slow at times.

It's very pleasant, and calm. Even the killings, for most part, are minimalistic and tasteful. And the main two actresses keep the movie going.

A tremor causes a chemical spill near a crypt, raising a recently deceased woman as some sort of blood drinking fiend....and her living lesbian girlfriend starts bringing her home random people as snacks. The majority of Jean Rollin's films deal with the undead in some form or another, so you would think he might have clue about creating a scary mood, but you'd be completely wrong. Glacially paced and badly acted, only the occasional scene of ridiculous gore breaks up the monotony.

Lots of fake blood, lots of nudity, lots of absurd killing sequences, not a whole lot else. I understand this is grindhouse, but like any genre film it's usually possible to inject some good ideas into it. Here, there were none.
