The Little Prince

A tedious and charmless slog through Saint Exupery's tale of a chance encounter in the desert with an alien boy. Most of the music is dumb, and the meaning behind the Little Prince's parables about his travels are largely lost. Read the book.

The Little Prince was a very cute musical until the end when it turned into a story of a little boy committing suicide. I enjoyed some of the numbers in this musical but some of them didn't seem to fit well. A hardcore bachelor turned into a doting father in this story but, once again, it was the suicide at the end that left me reeling. I suppose we could assume that the Little Prince was just a figment of the Pilot's imagination or a hallucination but there is still the issue of his end.

I enjoyed watching when I was a child. Indeed, has musicals too much, concealing some important passages of the book. That is, just read the book.
