The abhorrent "Life is Beautiful", Benigni's Holocaust-denial film packaged as charming bittersweet comedy, really put the damper on my appreciation of this artist. But I still have fond if vague memories of this, The Little Devil, which I watched more than once in my youth. You have to hand it to him, he has his own eccentric thing. Hard to put the finger on what sets this apart from other comedies but it is charmingly idiosyncratic.
