The Little Darling

It's not really awful, it's just not worth seeing. What I learned from this film is that in 1909 it was okay to be a pedo. The real tragedy of the film is that the young, attractive woman has no idea how close she was to being in a really gross gangbang. But aren't we all clueless to that, really? I think so.

A boarding house full of grown men? What?

A whole bunch of bachelors get really excited that a little girl is coming and so they all buy her gifts. Yeah, that's just a little creepy. No effective use of the camera or editing like Griffith loved to do, either.

I love movies about pedophiles.

Even accounting for its age, I found this trite.

Ah, a Griffith comedy. As usual, you just about hear him yelling, "No, act MORE!! Cavort, I say!!" Logically, though, I don't see why all these gentlemen are so disappointed, as now they can keep the toys for themselves, and they were clearly having the time of their lives with them already.

The IMDb description makes them sound like pedophiles. But this isn't actually that bad of a film, once you take into account that the audience was supposed to read the letter in the original version. The letter makes it sound like the visiting daughter is a young girl, but instead it's an older girl, and everyone is embarrassed at buying her children's toys. Haha. Okay, not exactly comedy gold, but at least it does have a plot.

A bunch of creepers trying to get laid. Boy some things never change. For those questioning why it's creepy. Imagine in today's time, a young lady walks into a bar and 15 men instantly and simultaneously all descend on her with strange gifts and hitting on her. I don't know any women that wouldn't run screaming.

Getting a bad rap this one but I didn't think it was that bad. Actually better than most Griffith stuff from that era. I appreciate the way a crowd is directed in a film this early, not just solitary characters.

Yeah, it's a little creepy, but mostly it's just stupid.
