I grew up watching Van Damme flicks w my pops in the late 80s and through the 90s. I was hoping for some of the humour similar to what we had with JCVJ on Amazon Prime. it's nowhere near that well done unfortunately. For JCVD fanatics his performance here is a 8.5, it's just the supporting players are written to be stupid, and annoying. Took me 3+ hrs to get through it with how many times I paused it. That said , JCVD's costumes were great as were most scenes w him kicking ass or being funny.5.6

Everything is built around JCVD's body auteur persona from 30 years ago, and even the plot is somewhat outdated (on purpose) -- former secret service trying to save France from a machine that disables electronic devices and might fall in the wrong hands, while reconnecting with his estranged son. Too bad there is too much silly matinee comedy and not enough actual action material -- car chase might be the only one truly well-crafted.

Dumb and goofy, but funnier than most dumb and goofy action flicks manage to be. At least when in good company.

Started of pretty promising, but deteriorated fast. I really hope most of the jokes were lost in translations or cultural differences, cause the humor was painfully unfunny.

It's very french of the tryhard type, so people not used to the kind might find everyone too childishly stupid. Only Dalila and Van Damme's characters were tolerable. Some funny scenes, though they'd quickly be undermined by annoying characters.

Mostly just terrible and stupid. It is quite sad to see how low Jean-Claude Van Damme's movies have sunk. Perhaps something was lost in the translation, but this was just awful

This really just feels like a French version of Van Damme's short-lived show Jean-Claude Van Johnson.

I legitimately laughed a few times during this silly movie, which does say something. Of course, there are also a bunch of cringe-worthy scenes that feel like something out of the early 2000s. Not the best of the late-era JCVD, but not the worst.

I've always liked JCVD, and as an actor he's getting better and better. But he's the only somewhat redeeming feature in this, and the comedy really, really sucks.
