What a way to end the series! I don't think I could like any other series as much as The Last Kingdom and the movie to end it was not a bit weaker than the series. Awesome movie and series, must watch!

A fun and interesting walk through ancient history. Demons from the church and pagans to be conquered to form England. There were many twists and turns, and the story remained engaging from start to finish. There was quite a lot of emphasis on the big battle at the end. I enjoyed this and recommend it for whenever you are in the mood for some deceit, swordplay, king making and ancient battles. I think the portraying of the king being gay was an welcomed fabrication without any evidence.

Maybe I should watch the tv series? It felt bland, and the characters felt shallow.

Worse than a typical episode. Still, if you are a fan, you should watch it.

Certainly dense—clearly made for fans of the show—but still surprisingly engaging and entertaining even for someone like me who didn't watch a single episode. Not without flaws, tho, like an attempt at a redemption arc that instead comes across as the movie suddenly wanting you to like a character who was simply far too despicable.

I don't know how to rate this. It's a movie that REALLY should have been a full season. It feels like you're watching one of those season summary videos before starting a new season. But I liked it. Yet I know I liked it because I like The Last Kingdom. Anyway, no-one's gonna watch it as a stand-alone film and if you watched the show you're likely finishing it, so I guess it doesn't really matter much how I rate it. I do want to reiterate that it's so rushed that it really suffers from it.
