My biggest takeaway from this movie is when Damon Wayans is at Bruce Willis' house and he excuses himself. Bruce asks him where he's going and in classic comedian-in-an-action-movie spirit he says he's going to take a leak, then asks if Bruce would like to tag along because his doctor told him not to lift anything heavy. I still use that line, though I've been asked to stop.

Ok so the black guy/white guy buddy movie action flick is a genre that's been overdone and parodied many times over but this is the king of them all. They don't make them like this anymore...

Shane Black's dialogue and Bruce Willis' delivery were made for each other. Say what you will about Bruce, but the man can quip. Danielle Harris was great as Hollenbecks constantly pissed off teen daughter, and Damon Wayans is fine too. Oh yeah, err, stuff happens and some people get shot and blowed up, but the chat is where it's at.

A film packed with very cool oneliners, 'Yo-mama-jokes', every possible cliche you can imagine, great action scenes and loads of cynical humor. Overal a nice action/buddy-movie with funny performances by both Damon Wayans and Bruce Willis. I would suggest you should watch this one with some friends and a lot of beer.

I wish they still made action movies like this one, with the "in your face" -attitude that this bad boy has! It's cool and witty, though it does have its weaker moments. Still a nice 80's flick to watch.

Anyone else ever notice there's no middle part to this movie? Anyway, still another '90s summer action flick I have a soft spot for from when I was younger. Basically, the movie's philosophy is summed up by the scene where Willis reduces his potential killer to hysterics with a stream of wisecracks before blasting him.

People freak when I tell them I rate this movie, but I will defend this movie because it is over the top and doesn't make any bones about it...This is the 'moonlighting' bruce that the world first fell in love with after all and Bruce plays the part to a tee.

A buddy-cop film that manages to hit pretty much every cliche of the genre but gets away with it due to it's hilarious dialog. Willis tosses out the one-liners like nobody's business and though I'm not a Damon Wayans fan he actually was alright in this movie. Plus the action scenes themselves are pretty impressive as well. All in all it's a fun action flick that's quite entertaining.

Goddamn, the writer really wants to you to know how clever he is. Bruce Willis seriously has a witty comeback to everything that is said to him. It's cool a few times but then after you hear about 50 of these you feel like you just got raped by some guy who is really impressed with himself. Tony Scott's style is once again very dismal. You can't tell what's going on in half of these action sequences, leaving me very frustrated and with a bit of a headache. Very poor film.

A solid tony Scott action movie. You can see the man's got skill behind the camera , which makes for an entertaining watch. The scenes are flashy and fast, like an MTV music video. The action scenes are like a toned down version of die hard, but with the witty humor. Pretty much Willis playing mcClane again, in a PG movie. Overall good pacing, and its got Danielle Harris in it! I always love her so!

The Last Boy Scout is regarded by many as one of the guilty pleasure action films of the 90's. By Tony Scott's standards this is by no means his finest work, but I've seen this film several times and it still entertains. But this film is elevated dramatically by Shane Black's incredibly quotable writing and the star quality of Bruce Willis. And even Damon Wayans is tolerable. This is one of the few action films that is ridiculous but yet is salvaged by it's equally ridiculous sense of humour.

Cliched cheesiness at its best, but still enjoyable. Bruce is Bruce, Damon is, well, a Wayans brothe, and the bad guys are just so prototypically evil and bumbling. Kudos to Chelsea Field, whose witty lines keep this movie from being just another '80s' Movie.

This is old-school (80's kind of it) action movie. Willis plays a worn-out cynical private detective; his character is lots of fun to watch. Dialogs are fun too. Story is typical buddy-cop fare, although a bit too cynical and simple-minded for my taste. I mean evil guy blows up in a huge explosion, everyone's is cheering and happy, but what if there was a children hospital next to his house? Jeez, Tony, think of poor dead kids.

It's worthy of a 40-rating, just beacuse Bruce (the Almighty. Am I ironic? Up to you.) tells the bad guy exactly how he will kill him by the means of extreme, yet skilful, violence - and then does it. It is that simple. The rest of the film in general: keeps you from sleeping, but not up at night, if you catch my drift.

In a veritable ocean of contenders and pretenders, The Last Boy Scout stands somewhat proud as the true definitive example of it's genre. A very crass and mean-spirited film, that sustains likability by audacity and sheer willpower. I remarked in my Tango & Cash review that one-liners do not a great character make, and this is the one rare exception to the rule. The Last Boy Scout sits precariously on the line between ridiculous-bad and ridiculous-funny, and emerges triumphant. Recommended.

It's just constant scenes of people hitting Bruce Willis, and him spitting blood. Occasionally, he's the one who hits somebody else, and then they spit blood. My least favorite Shane Black script by a huge margin. It's also his least funny script, but probably contains the most jokes ironically enough. So much of the humor misses and just comes off as juvenile. Wayans and Willis have no chemistry, and Wayans is just really not a good actor at all

Saw this at the drive-in as a kid. Images of a washed out Tony Scott L.A have managed to persist along with it's Shane Black petulant and mocking bad-ass-itude, all punctuated by classic 90's machine gun and deaths. It's misogynistic and goofy but it has a two scenes where footballs get spiked into dork-faces, one off of horseback. And I like Damon Wayne's second outfit very much. "Those pant's cost you $650? They come with a TV in em?"

(Viewed on 22/05/14): It's no 48 Hours, but The Last Boy Scout is a lean, mean, borderline misanthropic action film from the early 90's, which was a grim time for the genre that produced several unpleasant works. The plot follows predictable beats, but Black/Hicks dialogue is better than average, even if it's full of retarded macho bluster that reeks of an 80s hangover. Wayans and Willis work well together, and Scott keeps the action appropriately hard hitting and loud and the pace brisk.

Bruce Willis spends the whole movie speaking exclusively in hilarious Shane Black one-liners, which is undeniably awesome. Willis was so good at this kind of dirtbag hero back in the day. Plenty of good old macho bullshit all around, although I counted a good three or four scenes where the good guys were only allowed to escape/win by the bad guys being too dumb to live (not tying good guys up when they’re unconscious, letting them reach in their pockets, letting them talk too long etc).
