The Land Before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration

Just giving all the sequels the same score. I mean they're no good but I could probably still sit through them.

Little foot finds (spoiler) his dad in this installment and I'm not sure how i feel about it all. It's sad how this franchise literally never dares to do anything, never do anything "risky", it's just stuck with bad writing and mediocre stories because it wants to; it could be better, there are interesting ideas and concepts here and there in almost every film of the series but they choose not to endanger that old and boring "safe little film" feeling these all have.

Tolerable.

Aside from the original, this is probably the best Land Before Time movie. My eyes started stinging towards the end with the first signs of tears when they sing the friends song... but the moment is ruined by the incessant need to retain the shitty status quo. The songs are... less bad than all the others. Even still, I'm inclined to agree with Cera's dad: kill all longnecks.

"Sorry dad, I got a status quo to maintain..." It's... almost good? This is such a strange new feeling that it's unsettling. Thank god for the songs and narrative cowardice to reign this shit back or I'd be thinking this series was giving me Stockholm Syndrome.
