+15 for very cozy mid 00’s chick-flick. Critics seem to have abused this movie to show how smart they are by the good old “calling the time travel mechanics wrong”. So what!! The preposterousness is romantic!!

I was surprised with how early the time travel element was figured out by the two, and how neither found it to be that interesting. "Oh, I am writing letters that somehow make there way to someone else from two years ago? Yeah, whatever." Time travel films usually become complicated and you can't really think about them too hard. This film is no exception. Reeves and Bullock had chemistry in "Speed", but they actually spent time together in that film.

Bullock and Reeves acquit themselves quite well, but the premise (which I for some reason found less ridiculous when this movie was called Frequency) is unbelievably flawed. The ludicrousness of their actions is unacceptable and completely undercuts the film. Too bad.

Was I missing something or was the origin of the mailbox never explained? Also problematic is how Bullock's character seemed in no way worth waiting two years for. Lots of other loose ends created by the time travel gimmick that just pile up in the final act.

A bit of a surprise for me. I ended up getting into this. The plot is wonky at times (dealing with time travel usually is), but it was convincing enough that I was able to get past that. Even two actors that I don't usually like were pretty good. It's a good romance flick.

A love story about time-travel: if that doesn't scream fun for both sexes, I don't know what does. I knew everything that would happen in this movie after the first five minutes. Every - single - thing. Still, I liked it, as it's one thing to hear and know something will happen, and something else entirely to see it go down. If you can come to grips with the concept (magic mailbox sends letters across time), it's enjoyable. Cute and harmless -- a nice date movie.

Schmaltzy romance is a complete contrivance, but once you accept the time travel premise as a flexible, fuzzy device to keep Reeves and Bullock apart (and not designed to stand up to close logical scrutiny), it’s an enjoyable ride, with the two stars a convincing and likable couple, backed by a fine support cast (not to mention McCartney's Oscar fishing music). Might have had a greater impact with a more poignant and wistful finale, but the capitulation to corn and sentiment works good enough!

The premise was putting me out of the film continuously - it is too unbelievable and the tiniest thoughts about the plot and its progression in the film open up plot holes as deep as the Mariana Trench. It was too far-fetched and too ridiculously and obviously illogical. The lack of chemistry and the contrived dialogue didn't help either.

They have no reason to believe that a future exists for them, yet they behave unselfishly anyway. And while each is in an emotional rut, they don't look for answers with indiscriminate Sex and the City-style hook-ups. Tenderness. Selflessness. Restraint. It's nice to see those virtues on the big screen again. (pl;uggedin.com)

If you're not able to suspend disbelief, this movie is not for you. It's a nice overall story with an interesting time element, but so, so many of the lines are just painfully cliche. Not just the kind that makes you groan, the kind that makes you wince in pain at how terrible and unrealistic that someone would ever say something like that in real life. I could never fully buy into the emotional story because of this - the characters just aren't real people (especially Keanu Reeves)

It's a remake and it's a pretty good one. As long as it keeps the plot from original novel it's tied to it and can't go far too much - so it has to be linear. Don't really like Bullock but Reeves is one of my likes. I must say they both played properly, the idea and atmosphere is nicely achieved. Didn't read the book but if it's exactly like this I must say that the ending part ruins all the way whole story cause of...well don't want to spoil. It had to be a drama...and it's NOT in the end.
