The Lady from the Sea

Hitchcock's Blackmail (1929) wasn't the only British production that had to be re-shot in the midst of production during the advent of sound. The Lady from the Sea (1929) was also released in two different version. Silent and then sound once the re-shooting was done. Saw the sound print and it's not bad. A bit creaky as far as dialogue goes, but otherwise a sweet little story with Ray Milland looking very handsome. But in the end it's the story which carries film to a pleasing ending.
