Early talkie from Hiroshi Shimizu which does capture a certain ambiance. Won't call it a spectacular film, as it's more a subtle emotional piece, but visually it does some clever things and I found the composition of it done real well. Only wish there more of a smack to the story, but overall this was a nice one.

At first, I thought this was going to be a solid character study and it was but it got better as it went along and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
