The "Lego Batman" was a huge step down from the first one, and this one is more or less the same. Same type of humor, same animation, but further alienates the adult demographic but centering the story on something that fewer adults are familiar with, Ninjago. I know next to nothing about it, but I have a feeling that if I were a little more aquainted, I might have rated it higher than the Batman one.

Lacking the heart and vibrancy of "The LEGO Movie" and the amusing antics and whirlwind approach to storytelling of "The LEGO Batman Movie", "The LEGO Ninjago Movie" is essentially the first sign that the LEGO brand may be staling a little, becoming a tad more cynically minded and corporate where its predecessors were the opposite. But that being said, it's still gorgeous, funny, and heartwarming in its own little way, and is far from the death knell of a franchise. There's life in this one yet.

I probably watched a feature-length ad for LEGO Ninjago toys, but it was pretty to look at. The bookending with Jackie Chan felt forced. I didn't get much personality out of the other ninjas. The bad guy tried too hard to be funny. The movie really dragged once the bad guy started accompanying them. Everything in the end seemed like a big hand wave to wrap it all up. Fav scene: green ninja's dragon firing off all the missiles, the backup missiles, and the multiple heads.

It’s got plenty of solid gags and there’s nothing awful about it. Every scene is complete chaos it has to be noted. There is just so much going on on screen, and it’s rather full-on for a whole runtime. Ninjago always felt like an odd franchise for Lego to base a cinema release on and this does nothing to change that feeling.

Most definitely the weakest of the LEGO movies, but this isn't without its charms or unique LEGO/real world integration either. The problem is that this film is missing the magic the other two films had, and perhaps suffers from an "it's all been done before" feeling that you just can't shake. It's not a complete waste of your time but, don't expect great things from this third outing.

Not as good as The Lego Movie, but I actually liked it better than The Lego Batman Movie, despite my unfamiliarity with this property. It's a pretty generic story, with a bunch of clichés, which it does call attention to, but that doesn't stop them from still being clichés. The animation is great, and there were some fun meta jokes about them being toys. The voice cast was good, with Justin Theroux really surprising me, but there are a few too many characters, so a few of them felt wasted.

Its pretty bad when the best thing about the movie is the opening title sequence.

It is not the awesome LEGO movie from Chris Pratt but neither the boring Batman one.

It's alright. Too many pop culture references per second, some of them being awful, some of them not. I guess it's ok. Looks good too.

Ninjago suffers really badly when compared to its Lego Movie predecessors. There is some good humour and the animation is spectacular in places, but the story feels like a patchwork effort and lacks any cohesion. Theroux doesn't have the comedic chops to pull off many of Garmadon's better lines and Chan aside, few of the voice talents seem well matched to their characters. Despite having a number of the right building blocks, Ninjago is simply unable to put them together in any satisfying way.

The movie's impulse to feature two climactic robot fights in the first act is almost a swan's song to relevancy. The middle act borrows the plot from The Power Rangers Movie (1995), book- ended by cat memes. While the final acts is just a series of saccharine speeches. The movie isn't awful; there are a few funny moments (among many attempts) and a few tender ones, but the whole thing comes across as creavitely bankrupt and unnecessarily noisy. Franco's voice didn't help either.

It was fine, but definitely a step below the other two Lego movies. Not as many laughs and the story wasn't as captivating.

When did children movies become so hectic? There is no feeling (or interest) in pacing anymore... I blame Rick and Morty.

Very little humor for me or the kids in the audience, and the story is very flat. The kids at my showing were figity and restless.

Yet another film where all of its best humor was in the trailer. Most of the jokes and bits were uninspired and sophomoric, even for its target audience. The self-awareness that made the first two movies in this universe so great is all but gone. This movie's only redeeming quality, if anything, is Dave Franco's fantastic voice acting. Any emotion that was evoked during the film was because of him. If there is any consolation, however, your children should love this movie.

A cliche and trite story full of bland and unlikable characters spouting off lame and unfunny jokes (of course including dated pop culture references). It's sad how not even Jackie Chan could save this from being a massive let-down. Definitely a huge step backwards from the previous two excellent Lego movies.

Really nice animations, good laughs, countless shout-outs to other movies and the most adorable giant monster ever. The chemistry between evil lord Garmadon and his son Lloyd was pretty well done, thanks to the talented voice cast. And even the LEGO version of Jackie Chan has some pretty good kungfu.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie is a perfectly fine animated movie--better than most, as a matter of fact. It compares unfavorably to the previous two LEGO movies, although that's almost a little unfair. It has some laughs, some decent action, and a point, it just feels lesser in all of these aspects when compared to its predecessors. Still, it has strong vocal performances, it's a good time at the movie theater, and if you're being dragged by children, at least you'll have a decent time.
