The Kiss in the Tunnel

Mearly a faint glimpse of what would come later in movie making. Rather uninspired, but still ahead of it's time.

Looks Good For The Age, But Not Interesting.

Interesting historically, but it is only a simple and small film without much importance.

It is not the best story to put on film, however every inch of film of that is important to understand the beginnings.

The kiss is nothing special but the moving camera really took me by surprise, so job well done.

That first shot is great in ways I don't think Smith ever realized, but the actual meat of it is still sorta adorable.

Pretty sweet opening

The shocking action-packed sequel to Heise's 1896 film. Seriously though, given the time period, it's nice to see actual camera movement and a real set.

That first shot is legendary. The rest is a long 30 seconds.

I find it quite hard to rate silent films because they are very far removed from modern cinema and I don't want to be unfair. But hey, this is a sweet little story that takes a minute of your time, and the opening shot is prety influential in it's own right. Worth the time to learn about how many wonderful moving shots we have now came from this.
