ABD'nin rock'n roll ilahı Elvis Presley'in hayat hikayesi. Geçmiş ile gelecek arasında harika bağ kurmuş. Ethan Hawke, Mike Myers ve Alec Baldwin'de katkıda bulunmuşlar. Adım adım çok ünlü olmayı sade biçimde anlatmışlar. Seyirciyi, Rolls Royce ile yolculuğa çıkartıyor. Filmin sonunda, Elvis, son yolculuğuna uğurlanıyor. Elvis Has Left The Building.

The dark side of the American Dream is such a cliché for documentaries, especially when its proof lies just in superficial soundbites and sped-up montages picked up while riding with the King's Rolls Royce. Bohemian mainstays like Ethan Hawke shooting the shit is alright, but the musicians make fools of themselves by cramming their blues into this dysfunctional oldtimer (there's a proper metaphor for you). The juxtaposition of Elvis' myth with Trump's reality doesn't connect.

Paints a juxtaposition between the zeitgeist of Elvis and the rise and fall of the American dream. Really enjoyed this as a journey of characters, not so much as a political piece. Great performances scattered throughout as well. A bit of a gem.

Okay so i learned through word of mouth that this was what i saw when i went to see Promised Land at the London Film Fest. And now that i know that, I think it works even better, title-wise
