The Kindness of Strangers

Well-meaning but ultimately a failure.

Nighy, Baruchel and the always terrific Riseborough more or less acquit themselves from this unbelievably poorly written misfire.

Scherfig's more dull and naive than ever before with badly written characters all over. She does get a few moody scenes right however, but not enough to save this pretty dumb film.

Started really slow, but then it sped up.

A little over all over the place both in the storytelling and acting but still so many delicate details, and every character had their own uniqueness. Kazan did a great job. *Good

An hour in I looked at how long had passed and just thought, "fuck, it's only been an hour?" That sums up my feelings. It felt so long because it was so poorly written, with things just piled onto each other without a real sense of direction or meaning. Why was that one guy so stupid? Why did anybody do anything? You can't just make everything miserable and expect us to care. Acting was all over the place. There are a few good scenes scattered throughout but not enough to recommend this.
