Insipid dialogue and weightless drama being shot like a daytime soap opera by the best technicians and helmed by a past his prime former master of the genre. It occasionally finds it's footing both in personal connection btw omar sy and Nathalie Emmanuel but if it weren't for the chuch shootout in the end, this would have a latest clunker from Woo. It looks and feels like a pilot for a upcoming Peacock streaming service series. That is they ever get that off the ground.

I simply can not get enough of Natalie Emanuelle. If you are a fan of hers, you will enjoy this movie. If you are not, then what's wrong with you? There is plenty of action, and fighting. And the plot is interesting and keeps moving along. I don't recall any pauses in the pacing. Great music, and as stated before Natalie Emanuelle!

This film has a few good action scenes but also way too many slow spots in between. The actors do a good job here, except for Sam Worthington who gives a boring performance. Overall the original film is a lot better than this remake.

Only recommended for those who really fancy watching some ludicrous nonsense about a short-haired lady assassin.

Barely came out and it's already another underrated american flick by the master. It's always interesting to watch this kind of rarity, an old genius having the chance to revisit one of his masterpieces in a totally diferent landscape -- for him and cinema. Result is a pretty mixed bag in the first half -- weightless melodrama -- and a solid, sometimes truly inspired -- showdown at the church -- operatic bloodshed in the second, hugely helped by Sy/Emmanuel's laid-back charisma together.

A director remaking his own film is unusual. You'll like it if you like John Woo, but my problems with Woo's magpie approach to picking things from other films or genres did not go away even if the setting is Paris rather than Hong Kong.

Woo is there ever a lot of slo-mo! Johnny is back with another action spectacular. The problem is that 2/3 of the scenes look ai generated or at worst manipulated w unnatural CGI. Some of the slo-mo is actually fun and the chemistry between the leads kept me intrigued. I was well aware pretty early on this was a b shoot em up masquerading as a smart, stylish thriller. Don't regret watching it. Was fun enough, but enough holes to fill some of the baddies. 5.3
