The Kid

Other movies did similar themes better, it sorts of leave one on their hunger for tension and moral ambiguity. Some actors were much better than others so the up and downs in skills were destabilizing.

Ünlü haydut Billy The Kid ve Şerif Pat Garrett arasında geçen bir western. Üstelik araya 2 kardeş de eklenmiş. Film western klişelerini bir bir kullanılmış. Fakat seyir zeyri bozulmamış. Ama oyunculuklar çok kötü. Ethan Hawke dahil hepsi batıp batıp çıkıyor. Heralde para almadan çalıştılar. Filmin sonunda kötüler ölür, iyiler kazanır. Mavi kuş her daim sarhoş. Biraz da bize kızmış. Hiç yüz vermiyor.

There is a major plot point which makes no sense to me. That aside, this moves pretty slow without a lot of tension. The final fight gets intense and Pratt does a good job at being evil. Unfortunately this doesn't have any of the great scenery that makes so many westerns unforgettable.

Billy the Kid might have been one of the most celebrated villains of the old west, so why is it so hard to make a good movie about him?! Not this dull mess...

The acting was pretty good except for the eponymous kid. To me he didn't seem to come of age but rather stayed a whiny kid who was just going through the motions. Chris Pratt stole his scenes. I thought the script was kinda bad though. Not sure if it was just the edit or the script was actually bad, but it just never quite clicked.
