I was more entertained by this than I probably should have been. It subtly tries to fuck the vagina of your mind, but ends up hitting the asshole instead. I am not sure what I mean there. Some good performances.

Intoxicating nonsense, buoyed by a slew of solid performances from a stacked cast. You really have to wonder what drew this much talent to such a bizarre script, but Kristofferson, Craig and Leigh are all quite effective in minor roles. Knightley's performance is somewhat flat, but at least she shows her tits (also somewhat flat). Luckily Brody is great in a role that's well outside his comfort zone. It's a good enough movie, but despite how 'different' it is, nothing really makes it stand out.

Frustratingly inconsistent. It goes from excellent, affecting drama in one scene to ludicrous nonsense in the next, and it never quite manages to transcend its pretty ridiculous premise. It's like if Charlie Kaufman gave somebody an idea for a screenplay and they didn't know what to do with it. Brody commits like his life depends on it, and Knightley is...well, I have no idea what she was going for there, but it's certainly interesting. Not great, but worth watching.

The jacket uses a time travel contrivance to setup a confusing and mostly ridiculous plot, however the acting throughout mostly good. Keira Knightley is off the hook and awesome, as always, although her pairing with Adrien Brody was pretty unlikely. Daniel Craig was surprising, in a good way, with his role as a crazy person. Worth watching, but far too many unconvincing and confusing moments.

The Jacket is a fun movie that only stops being so once you start thinking more about its characters and their relationships. The time travel aspect is enough to distract you for the majority of the time the film plays, and if you stop trying to think too deeply about it once it finished, it'll remain in your mind as a fun little diversion, but not a whole lot more. It has a strong cast, a unique style, and contains more suspense than it should, and if you're asking me, I say to give it a watch.

Some plot twists make for an interesting movie. A film that never attempts to make perfect logical sense. If that bothers you then I wouldn't recommend seeing this, if it doesn't then check this out if the premise sounds appealing.

Darkly romantic like a lot of 90s Brody; holds up pretty well without being too dated. All the lead actors are fab here, the chemistry is awesome & that sells the story. But a lot of the effects that were so new, indie & edgy in this have been exhaustively played out in the psychological thriller genre ever since, and the strobey, flashy thunder cuts cheapens it more in 2022 than it did in 2006, when I watched it the first 2 times. This fine tale has been oft rehashed like Hitchcock classics.

Even when seeing this for the first time I couldn't shake the feeling that I had already seen it before. This is one of way too many films making only superficial modifications to the same premise and story. That said, most of them are worse than this one, so it has that going for it.

Normally I love to watch this kind of movie but even when I started to enjoy, my opinions changed suddenly. I won't beat around the bush. I watched The Jacket because I saw Adrien starred in. Performances were okay. But the story was not that great. Some scenes don't make any sense. That movie deserved more logical ending.

A slow paced, predictable but yet watchable thriller. Gotta watch it a second time tho, think i might have missed one or two things, cos I gotta admit , one or two things i didn't see coming. Overall a mediocre flick , tho with quite a large cast for such a small movie , which makes for a more entertaining watch.

Interesting take on time travel. Not the biggest fan of Adrien Brody, but he does a well enough job. Got a little sappy at the end, but it makes sense since Brody knows he's about to die and just wants Knightley to be happy.

Weird enough. Watch it at midnight. I remember liking its atmosphere. I really can't be absolutely positive, though, as it must have been the middle of the night when I watched it. It's like not knowing if Tremors really is a great film or not. When it's past midnight and you're with your fellow video-junkies, anything can seem great.

Great performances by Brody and Knightley spearhead this interesting and downplayed sci-fi drama. Every aspect of the film works and works really well in some regards. Brian Eno's score is hauntingly beautiful (and unreleased unfortunately). While the story falls flat in some places, especially with its time travel elements, the film successfully plays to its strengths: the chemistry of the main actors and the beautiful cinematography of a harsh winter landscape.

Nothing here really stands out. It's just a "good" movie. It's not all very clear, but the acting is fine, and the story's creative. That's better than most crap coming out nowadays. Oh, and if you're wondering whether or not Daniel Craig (the new James Bond) is a good actor, this movie says yes. He actually steals many scenes.

Nice branch-out roles for Brody and Knightly, who have complained about being stereotyped. This movie gives me the impression that it doesn't know whether to be a psychological thriller (akin to Butterfly Effect) or a romance (Kate and Leopold). In the end, slightly unsatisfactory, as it is your typical hollywood movie. Still, no fatal flaws otherwise
