The Iron Curtain

Even with the selection of quality actors The Iron Curtain (1948) didn't do much for me. There was supposed to be this thrilling story, and you feel none of that even with the dark shots.

A dramatic voiceover that sounds like it's coming from a '50s UFO movie narrates the story. The script comes from a real story and has no action, along with no character development to create empathy for the protagonist.

Solid historical spy drama that isn't so much on the thriller side. No real complaints about any of the acting or the script except maybe the Russians can be a bit campy. Took its time building up to the defection with the wife planting seeds so it wasn't so much unexpected. Fav scene: everything really was up to the Canadian cop to take his side. Everything wrapped up very quickly afterward.
