Theoretically this could be better than the first film: the invisible man is mostly a good guy this time around & the race to keep him from turning bad should make for lots of edge-of-your-seat tension. Unfortunately, when the protagonist is good, he's blandly dull & most of the film plays like a superhero flick for young children playing his invisibility for "peek-a-boo" laughs. The efx are much better, but it's only when he becomes "evil" & vengeful (in the last 20 minutes) that things improve

Some really creative and lyrical moments, particularly towards the end. Not as good as Whale's, but it does more with the premise.

Decent effects but I must admit I was pretty bored by the whole thing. Vincent Price doesn't really sound like Vincent Price yet.

The day an officer of the law offers me a cigar to help me "see" my invisible attacker, that my friends is the day i wave my white flag.As for the movie, well, suffice to say I enjoyed getting drunk along with it.

Even in a flick from the paleolithic era I think the invisibility special effects are still pretty cool!

This is a pretty decent flick that has the misfortune of being a direct sequel to an absolute classic. It manages to entertain while also constantly reminding you how much better "The Invisible Man" is. Like Claude Rains, you really only see Price for a minute or so, but his distinctive voice does a lot of work here. What is not inferior is the effects. They are amazing.

It's really just a studio-era Hollywood melodrama that happens to be tangentially related to a horror movie. Not bad though, the crime itself is pretty well-developed and the runtime felt much longer than 80 minutes (in a good way, I think).

BlurayRip RARBG.

The Invisible Man Returns (1940) might not be as groundbreaking as it's predecessor The Invisible Man (1933), but it's still a lot of invisible fun and effects, and who would you know turns up?! Freaking Vincent Price!!! And when you can't see him you have the shining blond Nan Grey to look at!

It doesn't reach the technical or comical (I was hoping for another 'he's invisible, that's what's the matter with 'im') heights of the original, but the 40s sequel still manages, for the last forty minutes at least, to be engrossing and entertaining, mostly due to Vincent Price's performance in his first ever horror role. The scarecrow scene is fantastic.

Good movie, as far as second wave of Universal Studio horrors goes. Of course nothing like the original from 1933, but high production values, and decent directing makes it worthwhile.

I've always found the conversation he has with the scarecrow towards the end of the film very touching.

Nowhere nearly as good as James Whale's _The Invisible Man_, but a well-made, entertaining movie. Also it's Vincent Price's first starring role in a horror film, and he does a class job (as always)
