Old school vibes. It's certainly not utilised with any class, but the montage element that pops up in kung fu - showing bamboo being twisted and broken for instance, to stand in momentarily for an actor's arm - is a quaint and interesting device. Of course, the other memorable instance in this movie is palmfacedly priceless.

The plot is a bit weak. There was a lot of theatrics and shadow fighting, but it did have at least a few good fighting moments. The soundtrack is nonsense. Costumes are adequate, and the sets were good. The plot took a few kooky turns, but it almost made sense. Worth watching, but not particularly memorable. It has about a hundred poorly choreographed attack misses. Overall it is pretty typical of the genre from those years.

The story is ok but there's too many semi-developed characters, they don't build up the stakes and tension well enough. They could've built the final boss into a real bastard given those elements, but in the end I was quite sympathetic to him after the nut crunch. Not many classic fights either, they're good but not amazing.

The story is crap but the characters are a fun kind of over the top. There are plenty of well-done and exciting fight scenes that kept me entertained. If anything this movie was a tad too long.

This movie has dueling Pai Mei type characters and some neat kung fu moments. Story is ok but I don't watch these movies for the screenplay.

A classic of the genre. Good story and excellent fight choreography.

Riz Ortolani's entire soundtrack is stolen from "Day of Anger" for this weak excuse for a kung fu movie. It's watchable but the script is ridiculous and it's amateurishly directed.

The plot is convoluted and nonsensical (there's no reason for the general to learn iron finger technique if he's just fighting the assassin), but the choreography is spectacular.

Pretty terrible classic kung fu film that felt boring throughout. Even the presence of martial arts kicker legend Hwang Jang Lee couldn't save it. The choreography was lackluster throughout and the stupid "invincible" gag with the balls was completely dumb.
