A good rom-com, with charisma to burn. The lead characters aren't always likeable, but they are relatable. A bit too cute and quirky at times, but I enjoyed it.

Wow... the lead character was an annoying and pretentious piece of work.

The incredible Jessica Williams has charisma to burn, so it's a shame to see it squandered in a generic post-hipster rom-com like THE INCREDIBLE JESSICA JAMES. The script posits an ideal of romance that's as sentimental as a checklist and as hollow as a Tinder profile. Williams does the heavy lifting with her heroine, who's written as the kind of person who eschews understanding for disdain and is constantly telling everyone how great she is. Which I would believe if they just let her *show* it.

I started watching this on Netflix thinking it was a TV show. I made it through 40 minutes before I had to check, thinking it was going on awfully long for an episode. I am not very bright.

A hidden gem of a film. It's not a flashy film, but it's fun, smart and cleverly written. The performances are also enjoyable and bring a lot of life to this.

What a fantastically uplifting film. Jessica Williams character and performance really help sell the movie. Chris O'Dowd also turns in a good understated performance. Unfortunately there are both some cringey and cliched plot/story elements, but luckily the treatment of them by and large works.

The movie shows the life of a young girl who wants to be recognized for her plays, it also shows her love life, this is the main focus of the movie, and, in these segments it's a mediocre story poorly organized. Through the movie there's a constant sexualization on the characters conversations (looks forced). Somehow it becomes a political work. The part where Jessica visits her family is a political moment where the movie tries to tell what's supposedly the right way to think.

Jessica Williams is great in the lead role of this film. Chris O'Dowd is also very good here. The script is straight forward but it works. Overall I would recommend this movie.
