Bargain basement STAR WARS knock-off marketed as a spoof, but plays too (hilariously) earnestly at times to be anything other than a failed 'serious' movie; has camp value in spades for the first hour, utilising some seriously dated 'sissy' stereotypes for most of the villians, contrasted with Urich's blockish masculinity. Inevitably becomes too much towards the end, losing most of its charm to monotonous plotting and Vilanch's overdone vamping. Fun to see pre-Oscar Huston trapped in the morass!

As bad as it might be I think it's everything it strives to be. Even still there's some decent ideas thrown in there and the robots are still better than the SW prequels.

This is such a bizarre movie. It has pirates, unicorns, amazons, a Mad Max planet, slave auctions, forced castrations, clunky robot combat, space travel, people looking like Hunger Games hosts, time travel, sword fights, space herpes, etc. It also lifts story elements, dialogue and other things almost directly from Star Wars. Tonally it ranges from goofy jokes to gruesome violence. It's quite a trip to watch, and it ends in such a bizarre way too. Definitely recommended if you like weird stuff.

This is supposed to be a fun, comedic take on Star Wars. It's not fun. It's gross and boring. The jokes aren't funny even before you get into how unpleasant they are (homophobia is a key element of character design, and the number of times they say "space herpes", hoo boy). The story is wrapped around a lackluster "they hate each other, It Must Be Wuv" romance and a profoundly generic quest serial. A few good elements hint at a better movie, but this movie's badness is far too much to overcome.

Pretty fun movie featuring a space herpie. In all seriousness it approaches the idea of time travel/time warping in a more interesting way than a lot of "better" movies.

The height of hilarity when I was 10 although I wasn't sure what "Space Herpes" were ( found that out much later, the hard way). Not so funny as an adult. Some bonus points for sentimentality.

I know, a bad film, but in the fun way. It's so bad, it's funny. And it's one of those that never fails to make me snicker.

Essentially the dumbed down, lowbrow, farts and boogers version of Star Wars.

There are some movies that are bad in the right way that you actually kinda like them for their awfulness and charm. This genre of film I am referring to is chock-full of Schwarzenegger, Troma, and The Ice Pirates.

It mostly falls flat, but it does try pretty hard and a few of the characters aren't half bad. It gets points for space-herpes and Urich's reaction to the baby.
