It's.. okay. That's about all I can say. It's mostly not scary, just creepy, until the very end. I think the idea probably could have been better (more interestingly) executed, but it was a way to spend time, I guess. Can't really recommend watching it.

Brand new and one of the best horrors I've seen recently. No language or gore, just very eerie and scary at times.

The scariest part of this movie is how the lead looks like every white chick you match with on tinder, especially the overalls.

Despite some stupid choices by the protagonist and an annoying habit of hiding big things as said main character discovers things, this was a well-filmed, thoroughly creepy slow burn horror. I can see why Lee Cronin got noticed for this, though he definitely did better on Evil Dead: Rise

This movie takes forever to get going, and it's just more of the same. I hated it.

A solid by-the-numbers effort with excellent cinematography, which often very overtly references other horror movies (The Fly, Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Descent). Still its focus on simplicity really keeps it from being a particularly memorable film. Fine enough, but maybe a little too hollow.

Does a good job of building up on the creepy in a subtle way. Some parts had a definite chill factor to them, but overall it falls a little bit too far apart with its confused narrative. I liked the setting and there seemed to be interesting lore in the background that was never quite explained. It just kind of meanders and makes me feel like something is constantly missing, something that really gives the whole thing that kind of... oomph, I guess? Not bad, but feels very easily forgettable.

I enjoyed the acting in this. It felt an hour longer than it was; however. I was thinking this was in the 5 range, but really enjoyed the ending quite a bit. That'll push it up to a 6.1, but unfortunately I figure many watchers will have tuned out by then. A shame as it's a well directed piece. It just meanders too long. Very different than Cronin's latest feature "Evil Dead Rise" of course. Where this is subtle and foreboding, that is chaotic and aggressive. Still happy I watched this.

I usually like ambient horror more than straight-up slasher/stupid monster mania flicks, but here the movie fails to build up on the delicious premise of changeling children that is the base of many Nordic cautionary horror tales (the movie being partially produced by Finland). It fails at lift-off.

I enjoyed this one. Had a nice creeping and eerie feeling to it with the all mysterious enormous hole.

Felt very modern. Some low points, but it gave me chills. Made my skin crawl. PS this movie was definitely influenced by Donnie Darko.

An accomplished film that tends slightly towards cliche at times. It raises a lot of interesting, albeit not exactly novel, themes. It's at its best when it's at its most ambiguous. The conceit of the hole in the ground frankly feels like an unnecessary distraction and although the very last scene is well done, the descent into the hole prompts an unwelcome shift in tone and breaks what I think is a key rule of films like this: it's better (and scarier) to show less.

hot take but this was better than THE BABADOOK. weirder and scrappier, with a less passive, more hot-blooded heroine. plus the climactic monsters are gnarlier. not really anything you haven't seen before, though.

Trite, boring and overusing jump scares, the best thing about it is the central performance by Markey.

Bütün baharatlarıyla hazırlanmış 1 köfte filmi. Kocasından oğluyla kaçan 1 anne, oğluyla atarlaşıp ormanda 1 çukur görür. Çocukta değişimler gören anne, işin gerçeğini uzaktaki komşusunda öğrenir. Evin elektriklerinde tasarruf yapan cimri anne, oğlunun saçma hareketlerine 1 anlam arar. Filmin gerilimi aşırı zorluyor. Çukurdaki sır açığa çıksa da ilginç sonuyla kafa karıştırıcı. Yamaçta durma rüzgar kapar, Çukur'da durma karanlık boğar.

A strong performance from the two leads and a decent premise propels the story along enough to be fairly interesting. The "things go bump in the night" set pieces get old as the narrative runs a tepid course.

Mostly just a generic horror movie walking similar ground to others, but it leans more on the positive side than negative so at least it is competently made and enjoyable. There are a few good scares, but it mostly leans on atmosphere, which is itself pretty decent but not exceptional. That's about the story for this: everything works okay.

Saw this while killing time in Arizona. Got Whataburger for the first time afterwards and enjoyed it very much. This movie I did not. It's got a couple scares but takes itself too seriously for what it is. Saw for the A24 should've avoided when it said produced in Scotland
