Imagine if "Flight of The Conchords" weren't Kiwis, had less musical variety, and played aliens in home-made space suits and you've got the right idea. I was pretty entertained, but everyone knows that it would have been better with a little Bowie.

I'm confused. Are they folks from the future, or is their folk music futuristic? Or is this supposed to be a history of the future? Is that even possible? It is high time I came out and finally admitted this: banjos both fascinate and frighten me. I probably would and wouldn't fare well in the future.

A duo of aliens in Brooklyn with a doomsday device abandon their mission when they discover music and form a bluegrass band. Quirky indie stuff here that makes up for its lack of budget and experienced leads by being just as charming as heck. Even the scene with the guy stun-gunning the lady cop so he could serenade her paralyzed body seemed hilariously innocent and sweet. The music is also surprisingly good...apparently Future Folk is a real band, who knew alien bluegrass was even a thing?

Don't even know what to say. Brilliant. Best low-budget-scifi-comedy-romance-bluegrass movie EVER.

There's two kinds of people, both within reason; one who are put off from the whole thing, despite being so sweet and clearly made as a labor of love by Kevin's romance subplot, or one who forgive Kevin's romance subplot because the movie is so sweet and clearly made as a labor of love.

I like how little they explain the sci-fi part or alien skills. It just is

Far too precious and Flight of the Conchords flavoured for me.

The music is delightful and the story is fun. Folk and sci-fi seem like an unlikely duo, but they certainly pair well here.

So well done! This one sold me, something to do with the humor of it all, and the natural performances from our lead actors, it really grabbed me. A great time.

By no means a perfect film, but sci-fi enthusiasts will enjoy it, and if there's one thing that I can say for sure, it's that they won't forget it.

Bluegrass music. Off-the-wall zany humor. Kooky story that worked for me.

Truly amazing. I love the music, I love the lighthearted sci-fi, I love the characters. Action and drama are meshed with gooey zaniness in a way that makes it impossible for me to tire of this movie.

fantastical and fun. Didn't want it to end. I wanted to keep following them and see what they would do next. I really liked the songs, the costumes were perfect for the setup. I was very impressed with this Indie marvel.

Takes its self serious enough for the gags to work. Fun stuff!

Silly premise, very low budget, sometimes kooky dialog and story. But somehow this gets redeemed by the humorous performances and unusual antics. There are a few very humorous moments, some whimsical bluegrass musical performances, and a silly story.

A good original story. Not great production or acting wise but I really enjoyed it even the songs.

Loved this. Not just the idea, but the humor and original songs as well. Only real complaints revolve around somewhat spotty acting at times and the fact that the aliens used their planet name as a greeting/cheer/rallying cry. I never understood why this is a thing in some sci-fi stories.
