The Hill Where Lionesses Roar

Dreamy, gambolling style (and narrative) make this feel like a Korine/Malick co-production; while it’s certainly interesting and well-shot, there comes a point when you wish Bajrami could get to the point she is trying to make, especially during the last act when coherency starts to dissolve, and her smarts behind the camera don’t quite have the finesse to keep the audience hooked; the final scene is a strangely enigmatic note to leave the film on. Nice performances from the leading Lionesses.
