The Heart of Me

Not sure is it supposed to be a costume drama. Brits have done more than enough this type of movies, so the plot is obvious. Movie will be remember from the performances of Bettany and Williams.

Well-made and well-acted, but oh so dull. Like a lot of dramas set in this period, I just find the atmosphere too conservative and stuffy - from the muted, sober colours to the staid, understated dialogue. It just sends me to sleep. The only spark of life in the film is provided by Bonham Carter, who does a decent job of playing an Edwardian emo chick (ie, she kinda just plays herself).

Not the best romance movie I've ever watched, but there is something deeply sinister about it.
