The Haunting of Morella

Hey wait a minute, these lesbian witches are wearing inappropriate for the period lingerie. Way to take me right out of the movie ladies!

It has a gothic feel and look and one hell of a poster. I don't know. I ended up with a signed copy by Jim Wynorski so I feel obligated to defend it and so I will: Look at that poster!

This is...bad. Really bad. It starts off decent enough, with a solid premise, but almost immediately starts tumbling down a cliff. A lazily written, slapped-together screenplay that does the concept no justice, more emphasis on heaps of gratuitous nudity from all female cast members than on the actual plot, & shameless use of Poe's name for a story that barely resembles the one it's "based" on. Sadly, Nicole Eggert just isn't very good in this either, and she plays both main characters. Skip it.

This one's a bit of a tease. There's no less then three lesbians running around in this picture and it's got nothing on Vampire Lovers decades before it. Maria Ford went redheaded and Lana Clarkson was possibly the tallest blonde I've ever seen. Nicole Eggert was fairly good playing the duel roles as convincingly different. Her body double was one of the most obvious however. Still the film retains an air of macabre throughout and even has a baby sacrifice so it kept some edge.
