You've got balls, The Guilty, basically delivering a radio play via visual medium. It's the kind of movie I get overly excited about, recommend to everyone, then have to apologize to the rare few who listened because it turns out to be too morbid for them. Reasonable. But I think you should watch it.

A masterclass in restrained story-telling, relying on a great lead performance, some fantastic voice acting and confident enough to hold back on exposition, letting the audience figure it out, for them selves. The result is a tense, engaging, gut-wrenching and impressively realistic thriller, that takes you on a (terrible) journey without ever leaving the room.

A precise and calculated film, perfectly executed. There is nothing unnecessary here; a single set, a skilled actor, and excellent vocal performances craft an atmosphere of incredible tension. Profoundly effective storytelling.

EXCELLENT, taught, plausible, cruel thriller orbiting Jakob C's compelling performance | Near 100% solo onscreen, but not utterly as in 'Locke' or 'Buried' | Incredible tension & kick-in-guts moment(s) achieved purely by stellar acting (mostly seated so face & voice only - SO impressive) + sound design & voices on phone. ??NOT a light or feel good flic: Tho U see ZERO gore, its great plot takes ur mind thru some dark & disturbing drama. Might shake you. ARRESTINGLY POWERFUL!

In minimalist thrillers like these you really need to rely on the actor because he/she has to carry it and carry it Cedergren does. But that's not to say that the rest of it isn't great because it has a polished script with very few inconsistencies/stupid parts and enough twists and turns to be both interesting and heart-wrenching. Special props to the sound; a lack of music so when it hits at the end it feels earned, not to mention when people hang up the silence afterwards aches.

A claustrophobic and tense crime thriller that feels like it's about our desire to be understood. Compact and heavy, dark but not full of gore/horror. Excellent.

Terrific one location flick with a strong performance from Cedergren. One of the most gripping thrillers in years.

I don't understand how movies set in a single location with practically just one character on screen for the entire time can be so suspenseful. I liked this almost as much as Locke with Tom Hardy. Cedergren is fantastic and really grounds the movie with his performance. I might check out the American remake.

Cedergren may be less known than Lars and Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Pilou Asbæk and other internationally well-established Danish male actors. But here he's in a class of his own.

For a narrative that really boxes itself in, it is well made and kept simple. There's a few parts in the script that I felt could've been a little more clever, but the detail all around is impressive. Considering previous works of similar style (i.e. Locke), this pay-off is much more worth it.

I'm a sucker for one room thrillers and this does not disappoint. Cedergren is fantastic in his measured performance with bouts of explosive frustration. The simple set and the great sound editing really highlight the very tense narrative.

Having directed a similarly styled short film a few years back, this film was totally up my alley. An engrossing chamber piece that makes the most out of its limited running time and modest setting through a compelling central performance and a clever storytelling approach. Fremragende!

Intelligent, insightful thriller works both as a gripping, old-fashioned radio drama (though Möller's camera and staging keeps things lively and cinematic) as well as a fascinating test of human assumption; these sort of one-set dramas live or die on their performers, and Cedergren proves more than up to the challenge, creating a flawed but basically likable character put through the emotional wringer. Terrific use of sound helps paint a (apparently) vivid picture of the events we don't see.

The acting by the leading character is excellent and the sole protagonist / sole setting framework isn't necessarily a negative aspect to begin with, but it's getting rather monotonous in this particular movie. It's only a 90-min. game, but my interest would fade around halftime. Just like 'Buried', only without the coffin.

I loved that they hadn't given anything away in trailers and previews. It was just on point. So many awesome details - here I especially refer to the sounds! And applaus to Cedergren! *Very Good

Very suspenseful movie which just focuses on one police officer taking a call about a kidnapping an emergency call center. Jakob Cedergren does a superb job by carrying this movie all by himself.

A great exercise in tension, believably written and acted. Might get a little too "plotty" by the end, but I was glued to the screen for the entire runtime.

This is how you do suspense. The film is extremely nuanced and refined, only driven by the colossal lead performance.

The premise is catchy and Cedergren rises to the task of being virtually the only actor. The suspense is pretty constant from a certain point on and the fact that we never actually see the action, we just hear it, is not just a gimmick but actively adds to the tension. It's like a different approach to action movies, shedding a light to another part of the story. The twist is solid and the character insight interesting, my main criticism being certain unrealistic moments that really stick out.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Honestly don't understand the complaints of unrealism, every bit of it seams entirely possible for me and im sure has happened thousands of times, even just here in the states let alone the wider world including denmark. Anyway, definitely worth seeing if you are into dialogue based films like 12 angry men, Locke, the man from earth etc etc. I wouldn't pass this up if i were you.

Who would have thought you could be so engaged in a film that is basically in a single room about a guy talking on the phone to a few people?

Jakob Cedergren is the guy to call when you want your pedestrian film school script elevated somewhat, and he puts in another solid shift here. To be fair, so does the the rest of the cast. The script, however, is a MacDonald's meal, and it wraps up the way a distracted teenager won't cover the whole bun of your cheeseburger with paper, because he's quitting next week.

One guy at a desk on a phone for the entire film? So visually minimalist it could be a radio drama. That's not to say the visuals have no value here; keeping everything so stripped back while keeping the viewer hooked isn't an easy thing to do. I thought this would be a generic thriller wrapped in a unique(ish) gimmick, but there's some good character stuff packed in and the direction it takes is quite poignant. Much more interesting than I was expecting & not so black and white. Great stuff.

I tend to enjoy movies w one main (visible) character like Buried/Locke/Oxygène. This one was quite good. I'm on the edge of a 7-8 but feel it falls right at 7.4. Very good for what it's trying to be, but not quite that elite 8+ tier. Very close and definitely worthy of your time for a one time watch. Excellent tension building with him crusading to get this case sorted out by any means he can think of. Still it has its limitations overall.

A rather cruel, precise work honing in on the dangerous biases of vigilante justice. I thought the film was crafted really well, with excellent sound design and taught, sterile Danish cinematography that carries this above most other minimalist chamber thrillers. The crisis itself was interesting in parts, but it sort of whimpers out right at its conclusion -- ending on a bit of a sour, empty tone.

this is the police fmv: danimarka dlc'si.

Close-up of a guy sitting at the table and talking on a phone for hour and a half... makes a surprisingly gripping thriller. The plot gets a bit too much twisty towards the end, but still something a bit different for the genre, and it works.

Very thrilling and tense, especially considering that you only see one actor for 95% of the time. The lead actor's performance is incredible and the movie really manages to take you along for his entire emotional journey, especially in the moments where certain things are seen from a new perspective.
