A fairly good 'Whodunit?' with a few dead points. I found Akim Tamiroff's Gambini character dull, and the times he commands the narrative the atmosphere becomes more of a snooze then suspenseful. But overall it was interesting what they did with him, only lacked the tweaking to make it work to full effect. My favorite in this one was Genevieve Tobin doing a bubbly Billie Burke/Gracie Allen performance as the total dimwit.
