The Great Barrier

The Great Barrier (1937) is a rather ambitious British production filmed in Canada using Hollywood actors. Very unique in that manner. That kind of cross-country productions wasn't very normal in the 1930s. Tells the story of how the Canadian Railway was built, and it does attempt to make the most of the subject matter. However, so much of the characters and situations felt like caricatures. There wasn't enough effort into making one feel it's heart and it becomes a lame presentation.
