Amazing to observe all the ways that Ruiz scrambles film language into strange new forms. This is not a bad film, but I think I'm generally fonder of Ruiz's less zany work. Like Maddin, it's an eccentric humour that Ruiz has which I don't vibe with.

I've described Ruiz's films as 'convoluted and incoherent' in the past, and the same is certainly true here, but for whatever reason (drunk?) this seemed knuckle-bitingly hilariously amazing to me. As in, literally a perfect movie.
