The Godsend

A shameless Omen knockoff without any of the intrigue or clever scripting to work. The two parents are maybe the stupidest I've ever seen in this kind of movie, & unfortunately the mother in particular is so awfully written it's embarrassing. The children- evil one included- have nothing to them. There doesn't really seem to be a point to anything that happens. And, despite the implications of the title & poster, there's zero religion present. It's also pretty slow & boring. Skip this.

The true definition of slow burn. It really is slow going, but it builds to a high fever, and ends on a shrieking pitch of insanity. Gorgeous in its moments, which are unfortunately too few.

I remember reading the crummy book when I was a kid, and then eventually saw how crummy the film was too.

Weak movie, good ending.
