The God Committee

This is a very thoughtful and sobering film, based on a play I believe. Its not an action film, it doesn't have special effects or anything, it has an interesting story and moral questions for the viewer to think over. Kelsey Grammar plays an interesting character and while its maybe not as tense in one regard, I thought it was a surprisingly solid and good film that may leave you thinking it over for some time. Yes, I'd recommend this film.

This might have made an intriguing "12 Angry Doctors" kind of chamber drama if writer/director Austin Stark hadn't decided to "open up" Mark Germain's play by introducing a flock of terrible complications. Grammer and Stiles are sleeping together, and it turns out she's pregnant! Grammer is leaving to go into private research, and Hedaya is his financial backer! It's all hackneyed melodrama and the cast is saddled with really terrible dialogue.
