The Glimmer Man

There's something really very odd about this, I'll have to catch the rest sometime to work out exactly what though.

Fun buddy actioner possibly plays better 20 years later than at time of release now that these sort of genre entries are less common; teaming of Seagal and Wayans is no Gibson/Glover but they are fun and amusing together, with extra points for whenever Gunton and Cox are camping it up as the sleazeball villains. Some nifty action scenes (including the obligatory outrunning of a fireball and gratuitous window breaking) add to the fun.

The Glimmer Man was one of Steven Seagal's worst cinema releases before the dreaded direct to DVD's that once and for all finished his career. Keenen Ivory Wayans (the boring Wayans brother) is poorly cast and a pointlessly ushered in sidekick. He offers absolutely nothing and his comic relief attempts fail miserably. Other than Seagal's fun fight scenes, the script is awful and the character chemistry is none existent. However Seagal gets to boast some of his best-worst outfits.

Like 40 c.c. of testosterone! Probably Steve Seagal's most biggest action flick to date. Probably not something you're girlfriend's are going to be into though.

The Seagal-concept has become very tiresome...

Nothing special, but it wasn't awful.

Equal to any movie of Steven Segal. Predictable and bad.

Watched this for 2 reasons: Stephen Tobolowsky's recollection of how Seagull decided he didn't want to kill people anymore on screen (look this up on youtube) and the chapter in Seagalogy.

Perhaps Seagal's best. I mean, come on: "Deer penis extract"? Does it get any better?

Not worthy of a comment, and yet I can't help myself. Completely indifferent film.

Seagal at his best - not quite, but close

Wayans has little to no charm, and there are not enough decent fight scenes.
