The Girl Said No

A loud and obnoxious talkie from William Haines! Not a good comedy, but I watched this with a fascination over Haines' character as this over-the-top, childish, potential rapist kidnapper. It becomes sort of a creepy comedy where Haines is a cross between Bob Hope and Pee Wee Herman! There is 10 minutes where this is genuinely funny when Marie Dressler enters the movie with slightly risqué gags where we almost have old Dressler undressing and Haines loosing his pen between her sagging breasts!
