It would have made more sense for me to watch the original sound version of The Ghost Train (1931) with the 1941 remake of the same title, because the '31 version is missing about 30 minutes of footage (start and middle) along with most of the sound discs. Meaning there is only 50 minutes left of the film and only the last 20 of it with sound. This is where broad acting helps one understand what's going on. No matter how charming Jack Hulbert is, this one is simply too damaged to truly enjoy.
